Attorney General Menachem Mazuz on Thursday ordered police to launch a criminal investigation against MK Taleb A-Sanaa (Arab Democratic Party) in light of a trip he made to Syria last year.
Israeli citizens are not allowed to visit an enemy state without permission from the minister of the interior.
A-Sanaa made the visit despite the fact that his request was rejected; he was also urged by border policemen not to cross over to Syria as he was breaking the law.
