The National Union faction formed a negotiating team on Sunday to discuss forming a joint faction that could run together with the National Religious Party in the next election.
NRP chairman Zevulun Orlev said he was doubtful that the parties would end up running together, despite polls indicating that it could yield more mandates.
The National Union faction decided on Sunday that if they do not run together with the NRP, their list will be headed by MK Benny Elon followed by MKs Zvi Hendel, Effi Eitam, Yitzhak Levy, Uri Ariel and Aryeh Eldad. Eldad threatened to quit the faction because of his low placement.
