'Olmert and Abbas will discuss an alternative statement drafted by the US'

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA President Mahmoud Abbas will discuss the outline of an American statement drafted by the US State Department during a meeting that was scheduled to take place early Monday afternoon, the London-based Al-Quds al-Arabi reported. According to the report, the American statement would supplant the "joint statement" that the two sides have all but given up on hammering out before the Annapolis conference. The Prime Minister's Office denied the report, Army Radio reported.
