Paz-Pines: Diplomatic efforts must be as great as military-security efforts

Knesset House Committee chairman Ophir Paz-Pines said Monday that diplomatic efforts must be as great as military-security efforts, with regards to the Gaza operation. "We all remember the diplomatic opportunities that were missed in the Second Lebanon War," he said on a visit of committee members to the South. "The visit of [French President Nicolas] Sarkozy and European foreign ministers should open a window of opportunity that Israel must try to make the most of." The committee members toured the rocket-hit cities of Netivot, Sderot and Ashkelon.
