Jerusalem police were bracing for a violent Tuesday morning student demonstration outside the Prime Minister's Residence, and were beefing up forces in the area to maintain law and order, police said.
The students, who are protesting tuition hikes, were expected to clash with police as they try to block traffic and set tires on fire, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
Police said that they expected over 1,000 students to attend the morning protest, and vowed to maintain law and order at the demonstration.
