Police help Arab woman to give birth at Temple Mt.

Two Israeli policemen stationed outside Jerusalem's Temple Mount on Monday helped an Arab woman give birth to a healthy child at an entrance to the bitterly contested holy site, police said. The 29-year-old east Jerusalem resident who had come to the ancient compound for mid-day prayers suddenly went into labor, and started to give birth on the ground. Two Jerusalem policemen - including one who was trained as a medic - rushed to her assistance. The mother and her baby were then transferred by Magen David Adom medics to Jerusalem's Hadassah-University Hospital at Mount Scopus. Both were reported in good condition.
