Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora said Thursday that the issue of the two captured Israeli soldiers held by Hizbullah was in the hands of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday thanked German Chancellor Angela Merkel for her government's help in working for the release of the soldiers.
Olmert and Merkel discussed the Palestinian issue and the implementation of UN Resolution 1701, which they agreed to discuss again at a later date.
