"When an institution is attacked there is a public outcry," said outgoing state Attorney Eran Shendar on Thursday in the wake of the harsh response by the Prime Minister's Office to the state comptroller's report on Prime Minster Ehud Olmert's alleged misdemeanors.
Shendar told Channel 10 that the state comptroller was "doing crucial work as is the State Attorney's Office."
The state attorney went on to say that "we must examine the criticism rather than attack the institutions because they deserve the public's trust and we need to act in a way that merits this trust."
