South Korea to buy Skylark II UAVs from Elbit

Elbit Systems' Skylark II unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) beat out a number of companies from around the world on Monday and was chosen by the South Korean military as its new drone to be used in tactical operaitons and border patrols. The deal, valued at several million dollars, is believed to lead to additional deals between Elbit and South Korea. The Skylark II UAV system is designed for data collection, observation and target marking missions for ranges exceeding 60 kilometers. Its silent, electric propulsion system, allows for optimal performance during day, night and adverse weather missions. The system is deployed from the roof of a Humvee-class field vehicle.
