Students call university strike for Wednesday

The National Student Union announced on Monday that students at all institutions of higher learning will go on strike on Wednesday - two days after the deadline for meeting their demands for college funding expires. The union declared that students would not return to classes after their Pessah break. The students have demanded that the head of the tuition committee, Liora Meridor, be replaced with a retired judge, since according to the students, Meridor is not objective. They have also demanded that NIS 1 billion that was cut from university allotments be returned.
