Jerusalem police on Tuesday detained a 15-year-old Jewish teen suspected of kidnapping a 6-year-old boy from his nanny, after the child's mother failed to pay her NIS 500 she claimed she was owed for babysitting, police said.
The teenage "babysitter abductor" and an accomplice allegedly snatched the child from the new babysitter on the city's Hebron Road while she was taking care of three children, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The kidnapped child was later found by police unharmed in the courtyard of a neighbor of the teen suspect.
The former babysitter will be released from custody after being questioned by police, but will be placed under certain restrictions, police said.
