The Rolling Stones to perform at Hayarkon Park

The Rolling Stones are expected to perform in Israel for the first time ever, Channel 2 reported Thursday. The Stones will perform at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park around Rosh Hashana. A month later, Britney Spears is also expected to grace the park's stage. Concert organizer Shuki Weis, who was also responsible for organizing the Depeche Mode concert last summer (canceled due to the outbreak of the Second Lebanon War), told Channel 2 that these will be the biggest concerts Israel has ever known. The alternative rock band Blonde Redhead and the legendary Iggy Pop and The Stooges are to kick off the summer with performances in Tel Aviv in July.
