Three journalists who traveled to Syria, Lebanon investigated by police

Three journalists suspected of conducting unauthorized trips to enemy states were recently investigated by the international crime investigation unit, police announced Thursday. The three journalists, Ron Ben-Yishai of Yideot Ahronot (who visited Syria), Lisa Goldman of Channel 10, and Tzur Shezaf of Masa Acher (who both visited Lebanon) did not receive authorization from the Interior Ministry before setting out, an offense that could be punished with up to four years' incarceration, police said. The police added that it viewed such instances with severity, regardless of the fact that the three had used foreign passports to visit the nations in question.
