A three-year-old boy was left Monday in a locked car in Beit Shemesh, police said.
Beit Shemesh police, who were alerted by a passer-by, broke into the car and rescued the child.
The child's father, who was detained for questioning, told police that he returned from synagogue and drove to work without noticing that his son was in the vehicle, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The boy was taken to a local clinic.
