A senior IDF officer said on Sunday that the prevailing talk of war on the northern front next summer is "irresponsible talk" and is not based on any concrete intelligence, Army Radio reported.
Still, the officer pointed out that the IDF hub has been working on improving the army's readiness for a potential escalation of the situation, and that this included additional training for all northern command forces - both conscripted and reserve soldiers.
He added that the number of conscripted troops in the Golan Heights had been increased.
Army Radio further reported that the soldiers in the Hermon had doubled in number.
