UN ambassador: Israel will not be held hostage by Hamas

Hamas is solely responsible for the escalation in violence in the area and Israel won't be held hostage by the terror group, Israel's UN envoy, Gabriela Shalev, said in a letter of complaint filed to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Sunday night. Israel has shown restraint in responding to the rockets so far, but following Hamas' announcement that the cease-fire would not be extended and in light of the increased attacks on Israeli citizens, the Jewish State will not hesitate to take military action in order to stop the rocket fire into its territories from the Gaza Strip, Shalev stressed in the letter.
