A delegation of American Jewish leaders says it got a taste of Israel's battle against Hamas when a Palestinian rocket landed outside a building they were visiting.
Delegation member Malcolm Hoenlein says the rocket strike occurred Sunday when the delegation was visiting the southern town of Sderot. He said the rocket landed about 100 meters outside a police station where they took shelter.
He says no one was hurt, but they could feel the ground shake.
Hoenlein is a top official with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. He says other members of his delegation include billionaire Ron Lauder, Kenneth Bialkin, James Tisch and the conference's incoming president, Alan Solow.
