US-made radiation detectors deployed at Haifa port

United States-made radiation detectors have been deployed at Haifa port. American and Israeli officials said the detectors will help secure the port against threats of nuclear terrorism.
The US National Nuclear Security Administration promised to provide Haifa port with scanning technology to screen incoming container ships for radioactive material, Israel Radio reported.
The agreement is part of the adminsitration's megaport initiative, which works with other nations to prevent the smuggling of nuclear materials through foreign ports.
