Atomic spy Mordechai Vanunu has lost his libel case against the Yediot Aharonot newspaper. Six years ago, Yediot published an article alleging that when Vanunu was in prison, he gave written instructions on bomb making to Hamas members. Vanunu admitted that he did write notes to imprisoned Hamas members, but claimed that they were of a political nature, Israel Radio reported. Former Shin Bet head Ami Ayalon testified that he had informed journalists of Vanunu's contact with Hamas members in a press conference. One of Vanunu's fellow prisoners characterized him as "full of deep hatred for the country," and described him as "celebrating" terror attacks against Israeli civilians. Vanunu was ordered to pay NIS 36,000 in legal expenses.
