Watchdog group urges Mazuz to indict Olmert soon

The Movement for Quality Government called on Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz to follow through on the criminal investigation against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert proposed by the state comptroller on Wednesday, and to indict him within the next few weeks, Army Radio reported. Meanwhile, the chairman of the State Control Committee, MK Zevulun Orlev, said that Olmert had not choice but to suspend himself from his position. Orlev announced that he would summon the prime minister to a special session of the committee in the coming days. State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss has accused Olmert of criminal behavior, alleging that he took an active part in an Investment Center decision to provide a $10 million grant to a company represented by his close friend, former partner and personal lawyer, Uriel Messer.
