'Winograd commended Olmert's decision on the final incursion'

Members of the Winograd committee commended Olmert following his testimony before them on his decision to carry out the last minute incursion into southern Lebanon during the final 48 hours of the Second Lebanon War, Channel 2 reported Sunday. According to protocols quoted in the report, Justice Ruth Gavison told Olmert she tended to agree with his explanation that the move was intended to improve the ceasefire agreement. "In the end Hizbullah wanted the agreement because it was desperate. If you weren't inside, it would not have accepted," Gabison was quoted as saying.
