PM to announce commitment to new Israel-Diaspora relationship

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is expected to announce Sunday morning that Israel was committing new resources to a new Israel-Diaspora relationship. The move comes at the end of many months of discussion between the government and the Jewish Agency, and will be announced at the opening session of the Jewish Agency Board of Governors in Jerusalem. According to cabinet secretary Ovad Yehezkel, speaking last month to the Jerusalem Post, the new relationship would mark a more "humble" Israeli policy toward the Jewish Diaspora.
