Jaffa project to gain 50 apartments

The half-built complex, which faces the Jaffa port and neighbors several historic buildings, will now be able to contain 320 apartments.

The Tel Aviv District Planning and Construction Committee has approved plans to add 50 more residential units and an underground car park to the upmarket Givat Andromeda apartment project in Jaffa, reports www.local.co.il. The half-built complex, which faces the Jaffa port and neighbors several historic buildings, will now be able to contain 320 apartments. According to the report, the original plans were approved in 1992 and called for 270 apartments to be built in nine buildings. Five of those buildings have since been constructed. Now the Committee has approved the addition of some 6,000 square meters of construction, enabling the 50 apartments to be added to the originally planned 270. An Interior Ministry spokesman said the approval would enable the project to be completed and would help revive the entire neighborhood.
