50 senior Fatah officials flee Gaza to West Bank

About 50 senior Fatah leaders and security officers have fled Gaza and reached the West Bank, Fatah officials said Saturday. Among those arriving in the West Bank city of Ramallah were Gaza's Fatah leaders Samir Masharawi, Tawfiq Abu Khoussa, Maher Mikdad and Majed Abu Shamaleh, a lawmaker. Many of the displaced leaders were staying at a Ramallah hotel, while others rushed to meetings with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
