500 PFC members to join new PA security apparatus

Five hundred Popular Front Committees members were slated to join the new Palestinian security apparatus headed by PFC Chairman Jamil Abu Samhadana. The terrorist organization's spokesman said that the new mechanism was established to protect the Palestinian Authority institutions and government officials and to fight corruption. However, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared that he would not allow the group, set up in addition to the existing security forces, to function. Israel Radio reported.
