Israel quietly evacuated part of its diplomatic staff from the United Arab Emirates after two Iranian attempts to attack Israeli envoys were thwarted, N12 reported Tuesday night.

A senior source said the threat was concrete and targeted. “This was a specific hunt for Israeli diplomats,” the source was quoted as saying. “The attacks were already carried out, and disaster was prevented twice.”

Following the two foiled attempts, Israeli security officials instructed the immediate removal of non-essential personnel from the missions, according to the report. The extraction was conducted discreetly as a military-led operation, with no further operational details released.

Targeted Iran plots force Israeli staff evacuation

Israel maintains an embassy in Abu Dhabi and a consulate in Dubai following the 2020 Abraham Accords, which normalized relations with the UAE.

The reported plots come amid heightened regional tensions and repeated Israeli warnings that Iran seeks to strike Israeli officials and interests abroad.
