Kuwaiti authorities arrested a cell of Hezbollah terrorists, the Gulf country's Interior Ministry (MOI) announced on Monday night.
Hezbollah is a banned terror organization in Kuwait.
The cell comprised 14 Kuwaiti citizens and two other members of Lebanese nationality, the MOI stated.
Kuwait MOI video shows terror-linked weapons seized by authorities
During the counterterrorism raid, Kuwaiti police found and seized weapons, including firearms, "a weapon used for assassinations," likely referring to swords shown in the attached video, encrypted communication devices, such as Morse code transmitters, drones, maps, narcotics, cash, and Hezbollah flags, images, and other paraphernalia affiliated with the Lebanese terror group.
The video shared by MOI also appears to show hundreds of rounds of ammunition, partially emptied alcohol bottles, axes, daggers, knuckle-dusters, binoculars, cell phones, and computers.
The terror suspects were transferred to Kuwait's Public Prosecution, MOI confirmed.
The UAE's Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday condemning the activities of the Hezbollah terror cell in Kuwait.
