Cairo: Sudents protest IDF's Lebanon offensive

About 2,000 students chanting slogans of Arab resistance marched at a university Wednesday to protest Israel's attacks on Lebanon and the Palestinians, police said. The students demonstrated on the campus of Cairo University, many carrying Lebanese and Palestinian flags and setting the US and Israeli flags on fire. The protesters also shouted slogans criticizing Arab leaders for their failure to implement a cease-fire. Fifty of the students later rallied peacefully in a street demonstration outside the UN and European Union headquarters in Cairo. They handed over two letters to UN and EU officials condemning the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and asking the international community to intervene and stop the bloodshed.
