Gaza: Journalists call for BBC reporter's release

Journalists held a protest in Gaza on Tuesday afternoon, calling for the release of BBC TV reporter Alan Johnston, who was kidnapped in the city over two weeks ago, Israel Radio reported. According to the report, the demonstrators blocked off the entrances and exits in the parliamentary building. Earlier, the London-based Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported that frequent kidnappings in the area had scared off foreign reporters, and that those who remained in the city were concerned for their safety.
