Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a security cabinet meeting that carried on into early Tuesday morning as US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire with Iran, set to go into effect later on Tuesday.
Following the meeting's conclusion, Netanyahu asked ministers to avoid making public statements.
Trump, Netanyahu spoke before ceasefire was sealed
Trump spoke with Netanyahu earlier in the day before sealing a ceasefire deal with Iran, which was mediated by Qatar, a diplomatic source told the Post.
No official Israeli confirmation of the ceasefire has been received at the time of writing.
Defense sources previously told the Post that Jerusalem intends to wrap up the war against Tehran "in the coming days."
This is a developing story.
