The Jordanian Minister of Health announced Friday Morning that the desert country will begin a process of systematic flock culling, coordinated by his ministry together with the Agriculture Ministry. Since the deadly H5N1 strain of avian flu was discovered in Israel last week, Jordan officials had been receiving updates directly from their Israeli counterparts.
The outbreak in Jordan was discovered in the Ajoun District, which is located near the Israeli Jordan Valley region, where avian flu was discovered Thursday.
