Jordan's largest opposition group claimed Tuesday the government may be planning to rig next week's parliamentary elections. The Islamic Action Front, which abruptly withdrew from town elections in July over what it claimed was government fraud, said the polling next Tuesday could also be fraudulent. "But we will not withdraw this time," said the group's leader, Sabri Ismeirat. "We are seriously concerned about possible government violations." Ismeirat did not provide evidence to support his allegations, saying only that "there are indications that have led us to believe that the upcoming elections will not be honest and transparent."
