Palestinians: IDF shells northern Gaza, kills one

The IDF fired several shells at northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing one and wounding eight, Palestinian security and rescue workers reported. The incident came after Palestinian terrorists fired Kassam rockets at Israel earlier in the day. The IDF said it was unaware of tank shells or artillery being fired toward Gaza. Palestinian witnesses said the tank shells hit three houses in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya. Neighbors ran into one of the buildings in search of dead and wounded.
