Report: Blair says he's planning employment projects for Palestinians
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Middle East envoy Tony Blair will soon announce projects that he said would create tens of thousands of jobs for Palestinians, according to an interview published Sunday.
Blair told France's Journal du Dimanche weekly that progress for the unemployment-plagued Palestinian economy was possible - if the upcoming peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland, and an ensuing donors conference in Paris are successful.
"I hope to announce in the coming days certain projects, which if they come to fruition, will represent tens of thousands of jobs for the Palestinians," the former British prime minister was quoted as saying. He did not elaborate on the plan.
