Ben-Eliezer on respirator machine as condition worsens

Sources close to Labor MK who is in hospital suffering from a bad case of influenza say that his life may be in danger.

Sources close to Labor MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said on Tuesday he needed to be on respirator, after saying that on Sunday his condition improved and Monday he was less receptive.
When asked whether his life was danger, a source close to Ben-Eliezer said "if he were a young healthy man, the answer would be no. But because he is a 75 year old with a history of health problems, the answer is of course yes."

Ben-Eliezer has been in Assaf HaRofeh Hospital in Tzrifin for over a week, suffering from a bad case of influenza.
The veteran politician kept his hospitalization a secret until questions were raised about his absence from last week's Labor executive committee meeting in Kfar Saba.
Ben-Eliezer, who is obese, did not look well in a Labor faction meeting last Monday.
