Didi Menusi, treasured satirist and journalist, to be laid to rest Sunday

Didi Menusi, one of Israel’s most accomplished journalists and satirists, will be laid to rest on Sunday.Menusi died in his Ramat Gan home at age 85. He spent the last seven years of his life confined to a wheelchair after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.His funeral is scheduled to take place Sunday afternoon at Kibbutz Geva. Prior to his burial, his body will lie in state at Tel Aviv’s Beit Sokolov.Menusi was a longtime columnist for the Hebrew-language tabloid Yedioth Aharonoth, penning satirical pieces that were topical and news-oriented. He also wrote songs that appeared in notable plays and films, including Salah Shabbati.
