Military court convicts Hakim Awad of Fogel murders
18-year-old Palestinian admits to killing, together with partner Amjad Awad, five members of Fogel family in W. Bank settlement of Itamar.

The Samaria District Military Court on Tuesday convicted 18-year-old Hakim Awad of the murder of five members of the Fogel family in the Itamar settlement.Awad admitted to the charges against him in the indictment, according to which he murdered together with partner Amjad Awad the members of the Fogel family in March.RELATED:Moti Fogel attends TA ceremony with Israelis, PalestiniansFogel murderers provide account of Itamar massacreThe sentencing hearing was postponed to a later date, while a hearing for Amjad Awad is expected to be held later this month.The two Palestinian youths from the West Bank village of Awarta, arrested in April on suspicion of murdering the Fogel family members, were previously charged with five counts of homicide.The defendants, who are from the same clan, confessed to stabbing and shooting two young brothers, their parents, and a three-month-old baby in the attack.“I don’t regret what I did, and would do it again,” Amjad Awad told reporters in May. “I’m proud of what I did and I’ll accept any punishment I get, even death, because I did it all for Palestine,” he added.
