Tel Aviv has earned the reputation of being Israel’s hippest, trendiest, and most action-packed city. Now it appears it may be home to two of the world’s most high-powered celebrities.
According to the British Daily Mail, pop singer Madonna and Israel-born actress Natalie Portman are smitten with a luxury apartment on Rothschild Boulevard, the swankiest part of central Tel Aviv.
The newspaper reported that Madonna is in talks to buy one of the residential units in the 42-story building. The penthouse apartment at the Meier-on-Rothschild Tower, which was designed by award-winning American architect Richard Meier, costs an estimated $55 million.
The Material Girl’s net worth is reported to be an estimated $800 million, so the penthouse is well within her price range.
Madonna has long been known to have an affinity for Israel. In 2012, she performed at Ramat Gan Stadium in the first show of her MDNA world tour. She is also an avid student of Jewish mysticism.
