Livni 'sad and shocked' by TA shooting, calls for end to prejudice Staff
Opposition leader Tzipi Livni expressed her "sadness and shock" Sunday morning over the murder of two youths and the wounding of several others at a gay community center in Tel Aviv Saturday night. "Even if the details are not yet fully known, hate exists and we must deal with it," Livni said. "This difficult event must bring society to shake off prejudice, and to accept and recognize the right of every person to live in respect and safety." A statement from her office noted that Livni was in contact with the heads of the gay and lesbian community, and had offered her assistance wherever possible in dealing with the consequences of the attack.
