IDF returns to training in urban environment
The IDF has returned to training in urban settings, Army Radio reported Wednesday morning.

Nearly a year after Golani infantry soldier Mor Cohen was killed during a live-fire exercise, new systems designed to prevent similar incidents were inaugurated on Wednesday.

According to the investigation following the incident, it was discovered that many structures which were made of a bullet-proof material used to absorb fired bullets, were no longer useful or safe due to the deterioration of the material over the years.

The newly constructed, reinforced walls will have a control panel which will allow users to ensure that the concrete sealing the rooms has not deteriorated and that the structures are safe for training.

The new structures will be installed in the coming days at the paratrooper's base in the south. In the next six months, other infantry units will receive the new addition.
