After three years at Greek powerhouse Olympiacos, Yotam Halperin is coming back home.

The 27-year-old Israeli guard agreed to a three-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday, returning to the club at which he began his career and first rose to stardom.

Helprin made his debut for Maccabi as a 17-year-old in 2001, but after failing to realize his potential in yellow-and-blue, he left for Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia and helped the team to the local league and cup double in 2005/06.

The guard returned to Maccabi ahead of the 2006/07 and reached the Euroleague final with the team, but he left once more in the summer of 2008, signing a lucrative three-year contract with Olympiacos.

However, his role in Athens would diminish over time and he wasn’t offered a new deal after averaging just 4.5 points in 13 Euroleague games last season, opening the door for his return to Tel Aviv.
