French ambassador to visit Schalits at J'lem protest tent
French Ambassador to Israel Christophe Bigot said he will visit with Noam and Aviva Schalit in their protest tent in Jerusalem Wednesday, following news that a deal was struck with Hamas to release their son Gilad from Hamas captivity.

French interest and involvement in Gilad's case, Bigot said, "is not only because Schalit is a French citizen - he is also an Israeli citizen - but there is also a strong sentiment of human concern in France," speaking with Army Radio

Gilad is one of nine French hostages being held across the world, he added. But additionally, a number of French municipalities, including Paris, have taken up the case of Schalit.
