Sales over the holiday period have hit record highs after rising by a third compared with last year.
The year 5766 has already proved to be sweet for food company Tnuva Chef, whose sales over the holiday period have hit record highs after rising by a third compared with a year earlier. The company, which is a unit of Tnuva Group and sells food to large organizations such as hotels and catering companies, said on Sunday that revenue in the period rose to more than NIS 60 million from NIS 46m. last year, with chicken, meat and fish products rising 30 percent. In particular, there was a "significant increase" in sales of delicacies such as aged entrecote stake and smoked salmon. In total, Tnuva Chef sold NIS 10m. worth of chicken products, NIS 5m. in beef products and NIS 5m. in fish products. Tnuva Chef chief executive Irit Fine attributed the increase in revenue to the development of new products, the strengthening of demand, and the winning of new orders. "This excellent growth is a result of new agreements that the company recently signed with the large hotel chains in Israel, including Dan, Isrotel, and Sheraton," she said. Tnuva Chef is the largest company in the institutional food market with sales of about NIS 700m. a year.
