Fatah-Hamas reconciliation talks set to resume in Cairo
Fatah and Hamas representatives were set to resume reconciliation talks in Cairo on Wednesday, according to an Egypt Independent report citing Fatah Central Committee member Azam al-Ahmad.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal met last Wednesday in Cairo, and agreed to start immediately implementing previous unity agreements signed between the two rival parties.

In response, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu denounced the Abbas-Mashaal talks, releasing a statement saying,  “Abu Mazen [Abbas] embraces the head of a terrorist organization that declared only last month that Israel must be wiped off the map.

“This is not how someone who wants peace behaves.”
