Former Labor MK Colette Avital endorses Meretz
By Gil Stern Stern HOFFMAN
Former Labor MK Colette Avital, who was the party's candidate for president in 2007, told Meretz leader Zahava Gal-On Tuesday that she would be voting for Meretz.

Avital, who is a former diplomat, said she could not vote for Labor because party leader Shelly Yacimovich had abandoned the diplomatic issue.

"If Yacimovich changed Labor into a Centrist party, it is clear that the place of people on the Left is in Meretz," Avital said.
