Knesset Committee to look into child murder cases
The Knesset Committee for Children's Rights plan to investigate why the 2011 Welfare Ministry guidelines for finding children in danger, known as the Winter Report, were not implemented, committee chairwoman Orly Levy-Abecasis (Likud Beytenu) said Friday.

The committee will hold a meeting in the coming weeks, following several murders of children by their parents.

"We must put an end to the situation in which time after time the writing was on the wall and all the red lights were flashing, but the situation wasn't dealt with," Levy-Abecasis said. "These horrifying cases require investigation and a deep discussion."

The MK added that her committee cannot ignore such unfortunate events and will give its full attention to them so they will not happen again.
