Demand for workers rose in January, the Israel Employment Services said Sunday, having received 7.3% more job listings than the parallel month last year.
Demand for workers rose in January, the Israel Employment Services said Sunday, having received 7.3% more job listings than the parallel month last year. IES said it listed 23,700 requests from employers for job placements in January compared to 22,100 in 2006 and up from 19,800 in December. More than half the positions were for professional personnel with general workers for industry showing the most widespread need, security workers the second most required and chefs coming in third. Tel Aviv had the most job openings through the IES with 2,307 positions followed by Jerusalem with 2,181, Beersheba with 1,313 and Haifa at 962.
