The new venture would allow couples to bring only their IDs to the rabbinate, and significantly speed up the process of marriage.
A new venture for couples to use their IDs to get married is expected to significantly simplify the process of marriage at the rabbinate, according to Israel Hayom.

As of today, couples who wish to get married at the rabbinate are expected to bring different papers with them. The couple is expected to bring their parents' marriage certificate, their parents' ketubah, and proof of being single.

The new venture would allow couples to bring only their IDs to the rabbinate, and significantly speed up the process of marriage.

The rabbinate would be able to check and see the forms of the couples online using their IDs, while the rest of the information and forms will be supplied through a network of religious councils in various cities.

"We are making the process of marriage a little bit more pleasant," Rabbi Yisroel Meir Riani commented.
