Lior Suchard to perform at Eurovision finale

Netta Barzilai takes the stage in Norway while Finland pays tribute to the Israeli singer.
Will Israeli mentalist Lior Suchard be able to read the minds of Bar Refaeli and Erez Tal? It seems that he is certainly going to try.

KAN and the European Broadcasting Union announced over the weekend that Suchard will perform during the live grand finale of the competition on May 18 in Tel Aviv.

Suchard, who is a staple on US talk shows and performs around the globe, will debut a “brilliant new act” for the Eurovision. While Suchard was one of several Israelis who auditioned to serve as a host for the show, he ultimately lost out the gig to Refaeli, Tal, Assi Azar and Lucy Ayoub. But KAN officials clearly wanted him to be a part of the show regardless.

In a video released on Friday, Suchard tried to read the mind of Eurovision executive supervisor Jon Ola Sand, and astounded him by correctly guessing the song he was thinking about.

Also over the weekend, Israeli Eurovision champion Netta Barzilai popped up across Scandinavia. The singer appeared in Norway on Saturday evening during the Melodi Grand Prix competition, which picked its Eurovision contestant this year. Barzilai performed her winning song “Toy” before Norway crowned its winner.

And over in Finland, Barzilai also showed up – albeit in an homage to her by Krista Siegfrids, a former Eurovision contestant and current host of the Finnish national selection show. Dressed in Barzilai’s signature Eurovision look, Siegfrids performed her own rendition of “Toy” for the cheering crowd.
