Hi-tech worker demand falls in June

Demand for project managers rose 2.9% while demand for software engineers increased 7.8% for the past month, despite the overall decrease in demand.
Demand for hi-tech workers rose 2.5 percent in the second quarter but fell 3.1% for the month of June, according to the Manpower Index, a monthly survey compiled by MIT Israel based on a review of help-wanted ads in the press. Demand for project managers rose 2.9% while demand for software engineers increased 7.8% for the past month, despite the overall decrease in demand. Software engineers saw the biggest increase in demand in the quarter, rising 13.5%. MIT attributed June drop to a decrease in demand for hardware engineers.
